Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I am a self-pay practice and do not participate in insurance networks.

Many clients choose self-pay care because it allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and focus on treatment goals without insurance limitations on diagnosis, session frequency, or documentation requirements.

If helpful, I can provide documentation (a superbill) that some clients choose to submit to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan.
Why do you work outside of insurance?
Working outside of insurance allows me to:
-
Keep my caseload intentionally small
-
Provide more individualized and responsive care
-
Focus treatment on your goals rather than insurance requirements
-
Avoid restrictions on session frequency or treatment length

This model supports the kind of in-depth, behavior-change-focused work many of my clients are seeking.
What are your fees?
My fee is $200 per 60-minute session.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept Zelle or electronic checks.
Do you offer sliding scale or reduced fees?
I do not typically offer sliding scale spots. I maintain a small practice so that I can provide a high level of individualized care and availability to the clients I work with.

If cost is a barrier, I’m happy to suggest ways to search for high-quality insurance-based or lower-cost therapy options.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
At this time, I provide therapy exclusively through secure telehealth (video sessions).

Many clients find that telehealth allows for more consistency, less travel time, and easier integration into busy schedules.
Who are your clients?
I provide online psychotherapy for adults who are physically located in:
-
North Carolina
-
Florida
Licensing laws require that clients be located in one of these states at the time of the session.
What kinds of concerns do you typically help with?
While every client’s goals are unique, I commonly work with:
-
Motivation and behavior change
-
Health behavior changes (sleep, exercise, nutrition, substance use, medical adherence)
-
Anxiety and stress
-
Depression and low motivation
-
Burnout and high-demand professional stress
-
Adjusting to or managing chronic health conditions

My work often focuses on helping clients move from wanting change to being able to make and sustain change.
What makes your approach different from traditional therapy?
My work is grounded in health psychology and motivational interviewing.

Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction or insight, therapy with me often focuses on:
-
Resolving ambivalence about change
-
Strengthening confidence and readiness
-
Identifying realistic, sustainable next steps
-
Building momentum toward meaningful goals

This is often a good fit for people who feel stuck between knowing what they want and being able to follow through consistently.
How do I get started?
You can start by reaching out through the contact form or email.

From there:
-
We schedule an initial phone consultation (usually a 15-minute call)
-
We discuss your goals and what you’re hoping will change
-
We decide together whether working together feels like a good fit
How quickly can I be seen?
Because I keep my caseload intentionally small, availability varies. I do my best to respond to inquiries promptly and will let you know current scheduling options when you reach out. When I have availability in my caseload, you can usually be seen within 2-3 days.

Do I have to be “ready to change” for this to work?
Not necessarily. Many people start therapy feeling unsure, conflicted, or discouraged after past attempts at change. Exploring that ambivalence is often an important and productive part of the process.

Do you collaborate with concierge or specialty medical practices?
Yes. Many of the clients I work with value individualized, relationship-based healthcare and are receiving care through concierge or specialty medical practices.
My practice model is intentionally similar in that I maintain a small caseload and focus on highly individualized, collaborative care. I often work alongside medical providers when patients are making complex health behavior changes or adjusting to medical diagnoses.

If helpful, I can coordinate with your medical team with your written permission. I am comfortable communicating with medical teams when behavior change, adherence, or adjustment to health conditions is part of treatment.
